Designing a wedding dress

I had the pleasure of working with bridal designer Rita Colson recently. It’s not often I get to work in a studio, I’m usually thrown in the deep end with constantly changing light and have to think on my feet. Don’t get me wrong, studio photography has its challenges…hence why I’m forever pushing myself to manipulate light…it’s one of my main goals as a fine artist.

Rita, with a background in high fashion, specialises in light, fluid bridal gowns and separates that are unconventional enough to suit the boldness of your character, and graceful enough to suit the timelessness of your style.

She takes inspiration from the movement of modern dance, from classic Hollywood, from the light and shadow of black and white photography and from the sweeps and curves of urban architecture, her

designs use exquisitely tactile, feather-light fabrics and soft yet statuesque silhouettes.
